When I was in high school, my art teacher introduced me to the Providence Street Painting Festival, an annual event where local artists of all ages meet at the city ice rink to fill a square with a drawing of their choice. I liked it, so I went back after graduatin'. Thissun here was done for 2005.

The square was 4'x4', which was intimidating upon arrival but plenty easy to fill over the course of several hours. You would think, though, that after several years of participation, I'd learn to BRING EXTRA BLACK AND WHITE CHALK! Alas, the simple things often escape me. Luckily I had some friendly neighboring artists.

Oh, and uh... see that little blue bucket in the top left? That's for tokens. When people come to look at the art, they can purchase tokens to drop into the buckets of their favorite pieces. The tokens are tallied at the end of the night, and whoever gets the most in the entire show wins People's Choice. Then there's a panel of judges, who vote on the best work by age division: High School, Middle School, College, Adult. Good ol' Bubbles here won 1st place for my division (College) and 3rd for overall People's Choice. Weeeee!
